Add and pair units by scanning

When a stack of identical equipment belongs to one Product type, use its Bulk add action to register the Units quickly. The same screen can pair a new TrackDME barcode with the manufacturer's serial number already on the equipment.

Start a pairing session

1. Go to Products and find the Product type, for example "Standard wheelchair".
2. Click Bulk add.
3. Optionally choose a Location. Every new Unit in the session gets that location.
4. Leave Pair manufacturer serial numbers on when the equipment has serial numbers, or turn it off for barcode-only entry.

Pair a barcode and serial number

1. Scan the TrackDME barcode you attached to the equipment.
2. Scan or type the manufacturer serial number.
3. TrackDME saves both identifiers on one Unit and returns to the barcode prompt for the next item.

If the Unit was imported from a spreadsheet with only a serial number, this flow finds that existing Unit and attaches the new barcode instead of creating a duplicate. Choose No serial number when an item truly has none.

Duplicate barcodes are never overwritten. Duplicate serial numbers identify the Unit that already owns the serial so the operator can resolve the label instead of silently splitting one physical item into two records.

Use a phone or handheld reader

The pairing screen works on a phone, tablet, or laptop. A Bluetooth or USB scanner types into the focused field and submits automatically. The camera button can scan with the device camera when no handheld reader is available.

When you are done

The running count includes Units added or paired during the session. Click Done to return to Products. Every successful pair is saved immediately.
