Check equipment in
Receive a returned unit using Check In scan mode or the unit's Check in button, and learn where it lands afterward.
Check equipment in
Checking in a unit receives it back from a customer. You can do it the fast way with scan mode, or one unit at a time from its detail page.
Option A: Check In scan mode (scan and go)
- On the Scan page, set the mode picker to Check In.
- Scan any unit that is out or in transit. TrackDME checks it in automatically, plays a success chime, and shows "Checked in: {name}."
- Keep scanning. This mode is built for receiving many returns quickly, with no form in between.
If you scan a unit that is not actually out, you will hear an alert buzz and a message like "This unit is already in the warehouse." In Check In mode there is no form, so the location and note steps below apply to the button method.
Option B: the unit's Check in button
- Open the unit's detail page (search on the Units page or scan it in Normal mode).
- For a unit that is out or in transit, click Check in from {Customer}.
- Fill in the short check-in form:
- Location (optional). Pick where the unit goes, or leave it as "Unassigned."
- Note (optional). Record anything useful.
- Confirm.
Where the unit lands
By default, a checked-in unit goes straight back to In warehouse. If your org has turned on reprocessing in Company settings, a check-in that matches your setting (all products, or a flagged product type) lands in Awaiting reprocessing instead (you will see "Checked in, now awaiting reprocessing"), and it cannot be re-rented until someone marks it sanitized.
To move a unit from Awaiting reprocessing back to In warehouse, see Reprocessing and sanitizing. Every check-in is written to the unit's History timeline.
For background on the concepts, see check-in and reprocessing.
