Receive equipment back

Receive the actual return

Open the rental from Rentals or find the unit through Scan. Select Receive return and identify the units or quantity that have physically arrived.

Receive only what came back. A partial return leaves the remaining equipment on the rental.

Choose its condition

• Ready makes the received equipment available, unless its cleaning rule requires cleaning first.
• Needs cleaning holds the equipment out of availability until cleaning is complete.
• Needs repair holds damaged or faulty equipment out of availability.

The return is recorded even when equipment needs work. Returning and being ready are separate events.

Mark it ready

Open Equipment after cleaning or repair. Select Mark ready for the unit, or enter the quantity that is ready for a quantity-tracked type.

Do not mark equipment ready before the physical work and your normal inspection are complete.

Finish the rental

When every checked-out item has returned and no further equipment is promised, its completed record remains available in Rentals. If part of the reservation never left and is no longer needed, use Cancel remaining checkout, then Release remaining equipment. A future due date does not stop an early return.

An actual return followed by readiness can release equipment for same-day reuse. A predicted return alone does not. See Reservations and rentals.
