Equipment readiness and custody

Ready

Equipment is available to check out when it is physically ready and is not held by an overlapping reservation.

Out

Equipment has actually been checked out to a customer. A past due date does not make it available again automatically.

Cleaning

Returned equipment is awaiting the required cleaning or inspection. Select Mark ready after the work is complete.

Repair

Equipment is held for repair or other maintenance. It stays unavailable until the issue is resolved and it is marked ready.

Reserved

Reserved is a scheduled commitment, not a claim that the equipment has already left. A reservation may hold capacity for an equipment type or specific serialized units.

Completed and cancelled rentals

A completed rental preserves the handoff history. Cancelling an unfulfilled reservation releases its hold. Neither action should be used to pretend that equipment has physically returned.
